About the Author

As a lifelong storyteller and former screenwriting professor at DePaul University, I have always been dedicated to writing empowering roles for women.  My eclectic career spans my work as a freelance copywriter, a freelance photographer, and content editor and strategist in advertising/marketing. I previously worked in Business Development for Filmworkers in Nashville, a postproduction facility and at Resolution Digital Studios in Chicago. I also taught at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago, worked as a story consultant on a variety of projects, and conducted workshops on the Female Myth, Brand Storytelling. I’m on the Advisory Council for Nashville’s Film Com and on the board of The Art Center in Highland Park, IL. I’m also an avid potter and work in real estate.

One of my passion projects is TheChakraChef.com, an exploration in colorful, plant-based cooking and energy-conscious living. As a cancer survivor and dedicated Vegan, I’ve explored many different ways in which to support my mind/body/spiritual well being. I practice yoga, do a lot of pottery, and believe in the energetic forces that contribute to our overall health. I’ve always been fascinated with the notion of the Chakras, the colorful, energy fields that spin around our bodies. The Chakra Chef combines plant-based recipes that correspond with the seven specific chakras with a new kind of Mindfulness exercises. These ‘Thought-for-Food’ meditations and creative visualizations are another way to calm your nerves, enliven your chakras, and distract you from the horror show, otherwise known as the news.
